This walk near Samoëns has many facets: natural, architectural and cultural heritage. If you like beautiful houses and chalets, this is the walk for you.

On the foothills of the Giffre massif, the Samoëns hamlets loop offers you the chance to discover the wealth of the local heritage.

From chalets and bread ovens to ponds and chapels, the many buildings that have stood the test of time bear witness to the village's agricultural past and add to its charm.

From the hamlet of Bérouze and its castle, climb up to the Clos Parchet eco-museum. Take a tour of this traditional farmhouse and immerse yourself in the daily life of the Spetimontains of yesteryear.

Overlooking the village of Samoëns, you'll also pass through the hamlet of Mathonex, with its oratory and chapel founded in 1656.

On this walk, you'll retrace the history of Samoëns, whose authentic character has earned it the title of most beautiful village in Haute-Savoie in 2021.

Whatever your hike, remember to pack cereal bars, plenty of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, a small first-aid kit, and clothing appropriate to the season and weather forecast.

Topo/pas à pas

1/ Enter the hamlet and head off in the direction of ''Le Clos Parchet (Ecomusée)'', a direction you'll follow throughout the hike. Following the signs, you'll pass through Les Mouilles, then Les Noyerets and Secouen.
2/ From the hamlet of Secouen, take the grassy path bordered by a wall up to Mathonex. Once on the road, turn left towards the bread oven and follow the subsequent path up to the chapel. After rounding the chapel, take the road down to the right, go around the hamlet and then take the path signposted "Clos Pitton" and "Clos Parchet".
3/ At the end of the path, walk past the pond to reach the Ecomuseum 50 m further on. Turn right onto the road and follow it in the direction of "Vigny", passing through "La Combe aux Flés".
4/ From Vigny, at the big farm, turn right to join the road, which you follow towards Le Villard to reach Les Noyerets. Then return to the Bérouze via the uphill route.
