The Green Bike Festival
From 6 to 8 June 2025
The 16th edition of the Vélo Vert Festival continues its ascent along the trails of the village resorts of Samoëns. This superb protected alpine territorý becomes the ideal playground for all types of riding: enduro, cross-country, electric mountain biking, sporting or family. For 3 days, lovers of the Vélo Vert Festival will discover: a test show, rides, competitions, entertainment and, above all, conviviality!
The Haut du Giffre Ultra-trail
From 13 to 15 June 2025
For this 12th edition, participants will climb the hiking trails of Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. This friendly trail competition is aimed at the most experienced sportsmen and women, as well as walking enthusiasts and families who want to discover the splendours of the mountains up close.
The Samoëns American Festival
From 26th to 29th June 2025
Over the course of a weekend, the village of Samoëns welcomes the curious and enthusiasts of American culture for three days of festivities. Set against the backdrop of the Haut-Giffre mountains, visitors can enjoy an atmosphere worthy of the finest Hollywood westerns. On the programme: line dancing, country music and equestrian demonstrations.
The Samoëns & Montagnes du Giffre Lyric Festival
From 15th to 31st July 2025
For a fortnight, Samoëns and the Giffre Valley come together to the rhythm of opera. Singers, artists and orchestras come together to unite their voices and instruments in concerts, masterclasses and events. This festival, created by and for lovers of lyrical music, is the ideal place to share your passion for this highly poetic art form.
Adopt a pass! Crossing the Col de Joux Plane by bike
20th July 2025
For one day, the road over the legendary Alpine pass, the Col de Joux Plane, will be closed to traffic, to the delight of cyclists, hikers, skateboarders, skaters: all fans of soft mobility. A refreshment area awaits the bravest climbers at the summit, where they can recharge their batteries and admire the breathtaking views of the mountains.
Women’s Tour de France passes through Samoëns
Sunday 3rd August 2025
The women’s Tour de France returns for another exciting edition, crossing France from west to east, between Brittany and the Alps.
Athletes will pass through Megève, Combloux and Sallanches, climb the côte d’Arâches-la-Frasse (6.2km at 7.1%) and then tackle the Col de Joux-Plane (11.6km at 8.5%) after passing through Châtillon-sur-Cluses, Morillon and Samoëns.
The Guides’ Festival
3rd August 2025
In Samoëns, mountain guides are an integral part of local life. Indispensable for discovering the riches of the Haut-Giffre mountains in complete safety, the guides are being honoured for one day. At the end of the morning, they will parade through the streets of the village to traditional music. In the afternoon, they will be presenting all the alpine disciplines available in Samoëns and the surrounding area.
The Criou vertical kilometre
17th August 2025
The Criou KMV is one of the steepest races in France. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself and set off against the clock towards the summit of Le Criou. With a total distance of 2,059 km and a positive altitude difference of 1,000 m, this climb is organised by Samoëns Trail Évènement. The most courageous and enduring will take up the challenge without a moment’s hesitation.

Les rencontres Bien-être Automnales – 5th edition

The 6th edition of the Well-being Meetings in Samoëns offers the opportunity to enjoy a moment of deep relaxation and zenitude with the participation of many professionals from the Giffre Valley. This event offers timeless moments with the practice of yoga (hatha, nidra, hormonal, facial), meditation, sophrology, sound travel, hypnosis, massages, naturopathy, Afghan walking, family constellations, aromatherapy, etc…
