The Ecomuseum, history with a modern twist

For those who are curious about the history of yesteryear, take a leap back to the 19th century, into the heart of the life of the inhabitants of that time. The reconstitution of a traditional kitchen, a living room, stables, or the hay barn and the granary, retrace the history of agropastoralism (the model of agriculture in pasture) and of wood and stone work in the village of Samoëns. In the eco-museum, open from April to November, Simone Dechavassine, the owner, will enliven your visit with her lively anecdotes to make you live a moment out of time in this historic farm of 1815.

The botanical garden, a sensory and exotic stroll

Recognized as a “remarkable garden of France”, the Alpine Botanical Garden of Jaÿsinia takes you through the 5 continents to offer you more than 2400 varieties of plants. In the heart of the village, a feeling of freedom and symbiosis emanates from this unique place, created in 1906 by Marie Louise Cognacq Jaÿ, a native of the village. A real place of life, the 3.7 hectares of garden as well as its 3 kilometers of paths, offer you an unusual and unforgettable sensory journey.

Free entrance from 05/01 to 11/30, every day from 8am to 12pm and from 1.30pm to 7pm. Closed in winter due to snow.

In the heart of the Grand Massif, relax with the many relaxing sports activities. By practicing the Afghan walk, Nordic or sensory, it is a moment out of time that you will begin. Straight from the Afghan highlands, it is with the rhythm of your steps and with the help of breathing exercises that you will discover the Afghan walk, a pure relaxing and meditative experience. To reconnect with nature and yourself and sharpen your senses, the practice of sensory walking is recommended. A moment of relaxation and reconnection, enjoy this moment just for you in harmony with nature. Finally, slightly more physical, the Nordic walking will take you, as for it, in a convivial atmosphere on all the grounds and by all the seasons to discover Samoëns and its surroundings on the advice of the Samoëns guide office.
