Whether for summer, winter vacations or the rest of the year, the village is full of events. For example, the Savoyard terroir is honored in January with the Week Vigneronne. Samoëns celebrates gastronomy and good life with the reception of winemakers from all over France and beyond, as well as taste buds, to combine skiing and oenology. Another alliance, that of the sled dog and the man, during the Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont-Blanc, an exceptional international dog sled race. Samoëns organized the opening ceremony in January 2019. The winter season is also characterized by Les Hivernales du Haut-Giffre. An annual event that offers a really fun and festive day to discover the Nordic activities of the valley: cross-country skiing, biathlon, gun shooting, sled pony, fat bike, snowshoe, sled discovery, children’s garden. No fewer than four stations have been mobilized: those of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, Samoens, Morillon and Verchaix!

America, atmospheres and music underline the mountain village

Throughout the year, exhibitions, visits and festivals underline the seasons. So with the Samoens American Festival the village goes on for four days, in the American time. Immersed in a western atmosphere, it vibrates to the rhythm of country concerts, line dance, Catalan, equestrian sport demonstrations and exhibitions of beautiful American cars and motorcycles. Music lovers will not be left out, because they will continue to dance with the F’estival the Nuggets! This festival full of surprises takes place in July and August. High quality music programs are offered every year. Emerging national and international artists come to Savoy to share their music, their passions and their talents for unforgettable moments.

Unpublished events in Samoëns

The years follow another one but don’t look like to each other in this jewel of the Giffre valley. Since then new new events have regularly unfolded: the first megawatt festival of the electric bicycle has indeed had its first edition in 2019. Samoëns also organized the same year, the Mölkky World Championship. It brought together the 850 best players in the world, from 15 countries. A village with a beating heart to the rhythm of many events for the greatest happiness of its inhabitants and visitors!

Samoëns has an history, a culture. We revive this heritage with events such as botanical days, which remarkably mark our beautiful garden “La Jaÿsinia” classified garden.
Every two years we organize the symposium of the stone sculptures – with an emphasis on the size of the stone. Our local know-how.
Not to mention the festival of guides, which exhibits our guides and mountain guides that offer discovery of our beautiful valley all year round.
