Handitourism in Samoëns

Find all the practical information you need about accessibility and the adapted activities available to you.

Samoëns is committed to promoting accessible tourism in the mountains. The village resort offers a wide range of adapted facilities that enable people with disabilities to enjoy numerous sporting and cultural activities, as well as access to the various facilities in the village.

The municipality of Samoëns, the tourist office, and the Samoëns Handi-glisse association have joined forces to form a steering committee and have identified the services that allow visitors to enjoy the village while combining pleasure and ease of access. The association’s goal is to provide sports equipment for people with disabilities and make it available free of charge.
The Tourist Office has visited accommodation providers (hotels, chalets, campsites, etc.) as well as restaurants and shops in order to create a section that provides information on the level of accessibility in these establishments for people with reduced mobility.

That’s it, it’s time to leave the end of a wonderful stay with Xavier and Krystel Davergne at Le Clos des Cimes in Vallon d’en Haut, Samoëns

A big thank you to our hosts for welcoming us to the cottage, which is easily accessible for electric wheelchairs, for clearing furniture to make room for medical equipment, a medical bed, a bed table… and for having the beds made when we arrived.

Thank you for being discreet but always there for our well-being and for organising outings adapted to our disability.

We explored the mountains from top to bottom with the Cimgo, thanks to our drivers Xavier and Serge, and the Aquazen, which is so good for the body and soul, thanks to Krystel.

Re-energised, we’ve made a date in March to discover skiing on powder snow.

At 75 and 63, there’s no age limit for discovery, you just need to meet the right people.
