This fun and sporting activity has the great advantage of being able to be practised by everyone. Children and parents can enjoy the trails of the Samoëns Nordic areas. Our two sites, at the Col de Joux Plane and along the Giffre, offer pistes for all levels; from the beginner to the black run.
This winter, come and enjoy the pleasures of skiing in the heart of the snowy summits of the Haute-Savoie. For beginners and more experienced skiers, Samoëns offers you, in addition to its magnificent sites, breathtaking views of the Alps and its mountains. And for those who want to start or improve their skills at their own pace, our instructors at the cross-country ski school will be happy to share their passion with you.
Routes : Nordic site of Joux Plane at an altitude of 1,700 metres (14 km from the village centre) and the long du Giffre at an altitude of 720 metres (departure possible in the village depending on snow conditions).

Shuttles : Samoëns offers a free shuttle service to the Col de Joux Plane and the Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval. We recommend this method of transport, as the car parks are limited in number of places.

The pace at which you walk and the itinerary you choose dictate the difficulty of your snowshoe outing. So, whether it’s fun or sporty, this great activity will delight all levels and all ages. And so that you can discover the wide open spaces of the Haute-Savoie in complete safety, Samoëns offers you 100 km of trails and 16 marked routes in the Haut-Giffre valley. The Nordic area of the Col de Joux Plane will also welcome you on marked trails adapted to all levels.
For those who don’t want to burden their pockets with a map, nor their minds with an itinerary, our mountain guides, fine connoisseurs of the area, will accompany you to make your snowshoe outing a memorable one.
Our mountain guide Quintessence will introduce you to wellness and meditation activities on snowshoes. On the programme :Afghan march and cold yoga. Two great ways to enjoy snowshoeing in a different way and to take some time for yourself.
Come and experience biathlon in Samoëns. Accessible to all, this combination of cross-country skiing and laser rifle shooting will delight those who love effort and precision. Whether you are lying down or standing, you will shoot at electronic targets with our latest generation laser rifles.
Accessible from the age of 10, our ESF French Ski School instructors will welcome young and old for a private lesson of at least 2 hours and will help you discover and enjoy this sport.
