Samoëns in recital: three free musical events
Imagine a winter punctuated by musical tributes to the seventh art, great 20th century jazz composers or great recitals. On January 1st, the year 2020 will begin on a tribute concert to film music with the orchestra of Michel Tirabosco Soloist Pan Flutist and his 13 musicians at the Church of Samoens. On February 2, The Firebird, a ballet from a Russian national tale, composed by Igor Stravinsky, will be performed by the European Musicians Orchestra conducted by Jean-Marie Curti. This event will take place at the Cultural Space Ladies’ Wood, as well as the tribute to 20th century jazz composers led by the Gogito quintet.
A theater festival in three acts
Boulevard theater lovers visiting Samoëns in February may not be disappointed. Between theatrical comedies and musicals by great authors, such as Molière, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Cie Sans Lizard, the month will be marked by entertaining evenings, after a day on the slopes. Wednesdays 12, 19 and 26 February, meet at 20:30 at the Cultural Space Bois des Dames. You (re) discover: the musical “Au Chœur des Femmes” by Cie Sans Lizards, “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” by Molière, a comedy performed by Colette Roumanoff and the comedy of “George and George” boulevard by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt interpreted by the Cie de L’Esquisse.
Samoëns puts on his clothes of light
Which event starts on February 14th and continues until March 6th every Friday starting at 6pm? “The Vendred’illuminés” of course! Every week, the village-resort has its finest assets with a magical program that combines music, show, parade with lanterns and torches … All around a mulled wine and a chocolate offered, under the Grenette Place Big Tilleul. The carnival also take place there every year. On February 24, Mardi Gras, you will be able to admire all sorts of artists in walking and entertainment. A beginning of year which promises to be very colorful!
